STARTING YOUR WELLNESS JOURNEY

Don’t know where to start on your wellness journey? Do you want to live a healthy, happy life but have no idea where to begin? Here are 5 tips on how you can start living a healthy life.

1. Know your goal.
In order to begin your journey to wellness, it must first be clear to you what wellness actually is. Wellness is not merely a disease-free state; it does not just involve the physical aspect of your life. Rather, wellness is a state wherein your mind, body and spirit are all at peace, allowing you to function in the best possible way. Write down all the things you want to accomplish on your wellness journey. During your journey, you can change your objectives, but your ultimate goal must remain the same: WELLNESS. Knowing your goal and objectives will guide you throughout your entire journey.

2. Review your present life.
Know where you are at this specific time in your life. At the same time, find out where you should be instead. Be determined in making the necessary steps towards that objective. Also, find out what obstacles are in your way to becoming well, and think of ways to overcome them. Clean up the clutter in your life, both physically and emotionally. Throw away the things you don’t actually need. Write down your schedule and cross out those things that are not helping you become well. This will not only help you remove some sources of negative energy, it will also help you free up your schedule for more important activities you need in order to heal and to grow.

3. Make a plan.
Enumerate the steps you need to do in order to accomplish your objectives and solve your problems. Write down the activities you need to do and set a specific timeline for each one. Make sure that your plan is flexible enough, so that you can include other activities as you go along. At the same time, make sure that your plan is firm, taking into consideration any difficulties that may occur along the way.

4. Start your journal.
Make your journal your own personal space, a place for your thoughts, wishes, aims, problems and solutions. Write down your feelings and emotions about all the things going on in our life. A journal will not only be a form of release from the stresses in your life, it will also allow you to look at how much you’ve grown as you go through your journey.

5. Take one step at a time.
Sometimes we go through life so fast, we don’t find the time to enjoy our journey anymore. Taking one step at a time will allow you to experience your life to the fullest. If you make a wrong turn, don’t despair – sometimes, one has to move backward a few steps in order to start moving forward again.
