Replacing a Burned-Out Car Headlight

By: Chris Rhines

A car headlight is so easy to replace. By yourself alone, you can successfully fix it.

[Take note that there are two designs for car headlights. One is that there is a small halogen bulb inside a bigger car headlamp. The other (for older cars) is that the inner bulb and bigger headlamp come as one unit. This guide is for the design first mentioned.]

1. Get a compatible headlight from your favorite Auto parts store. Have it ready.
2. Open the hood and look for the black knob behind the headlight. This is where the bulb is fastened.
3. Unscrew it and remove the bulb.
4. Get the new halogen bulb and make sure not to touch the glass with your fingers.
5. Put the new halogen bulb in.
6. Screw the knob with the new bulb back into the back of the headlamp.
7. Essay it by turning on the headlights.
