Making Fast Food Healthy

By: Eric Minden

If you are trying to lose weight or you just want to eat healthy you can still do so even if you are eating at a fast food restaurant. To do so just follow these few tips and you won’t have to worry about putting on any extra weight.

-Limit your intake. Following a diet plan can be hard especially when you are on the go, by limiting how much you eat at lunch you will be able to keep off the excess weight.

-Remember your calories. When you eat fast food you often forget about your daily calorie intake. If you are on a 2000 calorie a day diet, you should eat like you are on this diet. Try not to over do it by adding an extra order of fries or an extra sandwich to your lunch.

-Substitute one item for another. If you would rather have a hamburger and a salad instead of a hamburger with salty fries, feel free to substitute. Many places will allow you to replace fries with a small salad, or any other small item on the menu. If you prefer a baked potato get one. With the replacements comes the hard part, not deciding which you want, but not over loading your plate. Keep the extras at a minimum. Don’t use a lot of sour cream on your potato, or heavy dressing on your salad, meaning keep it short and sweet.

-Drink more water. Most fast food restaurants offer carbonated soda with their value meals or combo meals. To reduce the amount of sugar you are taking in, ask for water. Water will make you feel full faster, and enhance the taste of you food. Soda leaves an after taste making it hard for you to enjoy your meal. Water has little taste and won’t leave any type of after taste, thus allowing you to enjoy your meal.

There are four tips on how to keep your next fast food experience healthy. Follow these tips and you will begin to notice you have gained very little extra weight. With a good diet plan and exercise plan you will be on your way to a happier, healthier you.
