The fact is - you are a unique, whole, wonderful creature that deserves all the best. So why don't you feel like this? It's simple. From your early childhood you heard that something is wrong with you: You are not clever enough, beautiful enough, good enough, etc. You had to be as others (your parents, teachers...) want you to be in order to get what you want. You were programmed so intensively and for so long, that you started believing it and experiencing it as your reality. You forgot who you really are, and you also forgot, that you, just as you are have incredible value in this world. But the good news is: no matter what your past was or what is your present is - you can absolutely return to unconditional self-love and complete self-acceptance and self esteem. The problem of self-esteem starts when you judge and criticize yourself. It happens when you let the social norms lead you and determine for you what your life will look like. Society sets the ideals for you. You blindly believe them. And start to compare yourself with these ideals. If you don't fit those standards, you start feeling bad about yourself. And if you do - you're satisfied. This is the chain you should break up. Most of us first look at what is happening outside and how others treat us and then react by happiness or suffering. But, actually, your inner peace should be your natural condition no matter what is going on outside. Here is what can help you very much: 1. Start practicing meditation - it will strengthen your ability to stay YOURSELF in spite of outside influences 2. Learn how to reduce self judgment - as I've already mentioned above - this is the real problem of self-esteem 3. Learn to completely express yourself. Build your center, your inner power. So no matter what happens outside, it will not move you from your road 4. Become aware of what is activating you on a daily basis - it's very important if you want to stop being just a biological robot and start to live in freedom.
