In the past 12 months or so, already established offline DVD renting companies such as Block buster have converted the original DVD renting process on the net, which operates the same way as it did normally really, the only thing is you pick the films you want to watch from your computer, also it’s a lot cheaper! When you've got the DVD (by post) and seen it, you send it back to them in a supplied envelope. The big difference I saw between online and physical film rental is that online is less expensive, and much more generous in the number of DVD's you can order and the amount of time you are aloud rent them. Even though the companies differ a lot in their offers, the costs of them are all exceptional. Imagine how much a regular DVD rental company save by not having to use offline resources such as a the shop, people, and shelving - so encouraging online renting is in their best interest, and creating the prices to encourage you to rent it online is the way forward. There are a lot of brands to select from and most adopt the recurring membership pricing as standard. So for a standard cost every month you can rent so many films at a time, and once you post them back you receive the next films. LoveFilm in the UK have recently advertised a PAYG model where you’re not committed into any contract. Amazon, Blockbuster, LoveFilm and Tesco are a few of the brands jumping on this new bandwagon, competing with great offers. All DVD rental companies have a fantastic selection and some promote more than film renting, with game rental too, which works on the same principle. Our advice, is to note down how many films you rent a month now offline, and if it’s less than one a month you probably wont want to be committed into any recurring DVD rental subscription. If it’s maybe one or two every month think about a low monthly contract and so forth.
